Usually  it takes 90 days from the flowering of the vines to harvest but in 2019 it only took 80 days which is very unusual. Spring was on the cold side followed by two heatwaves in June and July where temperatures reached over 40 C in the vineyards. Work in the vines had to start at five in the morning and finish at noon . Some  grapes were scorched by the sun on the most exposed slopes but the high temperatures at the end of August ripened the grapes very quickly and the harvest was completed without a drop of rain. Perfect conditions.
